Rob McCormick launched Avatara in 2005, aiming to revolutionize IT service delivery for small-to-medium-sized businesses (SMBs) with a unique, secure, and comprehensive in-house system. Prior to Avatara, he served as CEO of Savvis from 1999 to 2005, during which he was instrumental in developing the first-ever virtualized managed hosting platform. Under his leadership, Savvis saw a series of strategic acquisitions, major equity funding initiatives, and significant growth, leading to one of the most substantial-tech IPOs of the era. Before his time at Savvis, Rob was COO of Bridge Information Systems, the company from which Savvis was later spun off in 2000.
